PTR World Finals

February 26th-27th, 2010

February 26th- Check In & #11 Warm Up Roping (Format Below)
February 27th - PTR World Finals #11 Finale

Format

The PTR World Finals will payout a Half Million Dollars in a single roping. This roping will be a Triad #11 roping equipped with the Main 4-Steer Average, a Consolation 3-Steer Average, Century Bonus, Incentive, Mixed Bonus and Three Full Go Rounds. All teams that catch three steers will automatically receive a fourth steer. Fastest on any two steers will receive a third steer for the three head consolation payoff. The Finals will also be equipped with a Century Bonus, #10 Incentive and Mixed Bonus. A Contestant must be at least 40 years old to be eligible for the Century Bonus. This roping will be limited to 250 teams. A contestant may qualify or enter the PTR World Finals up to FOUR times with different partners and there is no age limit. The Finals is a Straight #11 and will be capped at a #6 Heeler.

Qualifying

Perhaps the most appealing aspect toward the PTR World Finals is the ability to qualify and the format of the qualifiers. PTR Qualifying ropings are unlike any other qualifying event. PTR qualifiers are essentially “mini” versions of the World Finals equipped with the same 4-Steer Avg, 3-Steer Avg, Century Bonus, Mixed Bonus, Incentive and 3 Full Go Rounds only on a smaller scale. These qualifying ropings give ropers over 100 opportunities to win money in a single roping. We strongly believe in giving team ropers the opportunity to compete for life altering payouts without having to refinance the ranch in order to afford the entry fees. Therefore we came up with the following qualifying format:
There are 3 possible ways to get a spot in the PTR World Finals #11 Roping and they are the following:

  1. The team that wins the main 4-Steer Average at any PTR Qualifying roping will receive a FREE spot in the PTR World Finals. The PTR will pay your entry fees!
  2. Each team that places 2nd-10th (9 Teams) in the main 4-Steer Average at a PTR Qualifying roping will receive a spot in the World Finals at a reduced entry fee of $500/Roper or $1000/Team!
  3. A Roper may directly enter the PTR World Finals for $1250/Roper or $2500/Team! (Half the cost of other major high stakes ropings)

Qualified Teams

All teams that qualify at any PTR World Finals Qualifier will either get a free role in the World Finals if they win the qualifying average or they will receive a reduced entry fee spot of $500/Man or $1,000/Team if they finish 2nd-10th in the qualifying average. Contestants that receive the reduced entry fee positions will have the option to either have the PTR withhold $500 out of their qualifying winnings to pay for their entry fees at the World Finals or they may take all their winnings where they will have 2 months from the qualifier date to get their World Finals entry fees submitted. If a team fails to get their entry fee money submitted prior to the 1 month deadline, their reduced entry fee position will be forfeited. In the event that a team qualifies and one partner can not go to the World Finals, the remaining partner still receives the reduced entry fee position while his/her new partner must pay the entry fee in full unless he/she qualifies as well. Contestants may enter/qualify for the World Finals four times with different partners!

Payoff

If the PTR World Finals #11 Roping fills to the maximum of 250 teams, it will be paid as follows. There will be a minimum of 15 paid average positions in the four head average. There will be a minimum of 10 paid positions in the 3 head consolation. There will be a minimum of 3 places paid in each of the three full Go-rounds. The Century Bonus and #10 Incentive will both have a minimum of 3 places paid while the Mixed Bonus will pay one spot! The World Finals will payout right at a half a million dollars and rank as the third largest single roping payout in the United States.

Warm Up Roping

The PTR World Finals warm up roping will be conducted Friday, February 26th, the day prior to the PTR World Finals #11 Finale. The warm up roping will be a triad #11 and capped at a #6 heeler. This roping will be a four head average, progressive after one. Entry fees will be $150/man ($300/team) with a 20% stock charge. Ropers may enter the warm up roping up to four times with different partners. Only contestants entered in the PTR World Finals will be eligible to rope. You are not required to only rope with your partner(s). You may rope with anyone entered in the Finale as long as you are a triad #11 team or under.

This warm up roping gives ropers a great opportunity to run a few of the steers they will be roping in the World Finals the next day. We ensure that the PTR will bring a great set of medium speed cattle, and encourage everyone to take advantage of the opportunity to run some in the arena before we dish out the big bucks on Saturday!
